    It was Valentine's Day today and Tom surprised me with a heart-shaped fried egg and smoked salmon muffin with prosecco for breakfast.

    He'd also got me an adorable teddy bear, some chocolates, a gorgeous bouquet of roses and some matching mugs.

  4. Checkin at Gilmerton Cove

      We then headed off on a mysterious trip and ended up at Gilmerton Cove, where Tom had booked us a tour.

      The cove is a mysterious hand-carved chamber under the streets of Gilmerton which archaeologists haven't been able to explain the purpose of.

      After popping on hard hats, we made our way through the huge underground tunnels which they estimate to be aged between 1000 - 2000 years old.

      There was a chapel, bar and torture pit carved out of various rooms with masonic symbols and underground tunnels leading to who knows where.

      We went for a drink at the nearby Melville Castle afterwards.

    We picked up some cakes from Falko afterwards and headed home to eat them with cocktails. I mixed up espresso martinis and rose & cardamon flips.

      In the evening, we had reservations at the Vietnam House Restaurant where I tried the braised vegetable curry which had amazing flavours of lemongrass and ginger.
