  1. Checkin at Saiko Kitchen
    1. Edit

We hadn't visited Marchmont in a while and were surprised to find a new Vietnamese street food restaurant called Saiko Kitchen and couldn't wait to try it for lunch.

    2. Edit

It had a nice trendy feel so we were surprised to find it filled with mums with school kids and grannies sipping coffee - although it was delicious condensed milk filled Vietnamese coffee. I ordered a tofu bánh mì sandwich while Tom tried the pad thai.

    3. Edit

I loved the nutty flavour of the bánh mì but found the food a little bit spicy, especially Tom's noodles. I'm sure we'll be popping in for coffee all the time.

  2. Checkin at Cobbs Marchmont
    1. Edit

There's a new cafe where Freemans used to be, so we decided to pop in for a coffee. It was okay but they didn't have WIFI, so it won't become one of our regulars.

  3. Edit

I started craving soup when we had a nasty cold a couple of weeks ago, so I decided to experiment and make a satay noodle soup with Quorn chicken. It was super hearty and will go down a treat next time we're sick.
