  1. Checkin at New Lanark World Heritage Site
    1. Edit

Everyone seems to have been telling us to go to New Lanark recently, so we picked up Dad and Grandma and headed along for a day out.

    2. Edit

New Lanark is a village that was created as a social experiment in 1786, where people could live and work at the cotton mill.

    3. Edit

Today, the mill is open as a strange and quirky visitor attraction with old-fashioned mannequins, a very slow theme-park style ride and a movie with holograms from the future.

The roof garden was my favourite part of the tour, with carved wooden animals hidden everywhere and a gorgeous view of the water.

We stocked up on old fashioned sweets from the candy shop and pressed a couple of pennies before heading back into Edinburgh.

  2. Checkin at World Of Bowling
    1. Edit

I'd given Grandma a voucher for bowling and pizza, so we went for a game in the evening.

  3. Checkin at Pho Vietnam House Restaurant
    1. Edit

We went for dinner at the Vietnam House afterwards where we mixed things up a little and I ordered Tom's favourite dish of fish cake pho and he ordered prawn spring rolls, which you roll yourself at the table.

At the end of our meal, Jodie gave us a super sweet little envelope wishing us a happy anniversary with a voucher inside. It really is the best restaurant in the whole of Edinburgh!
