  1. Checkin at Little Sparta: the garden of Ian Hamilton Finlay
    1. Edit

We read about Little Sparta, an art filled garden for poetry lovers, in the Nothing To See Here book which Kenny gave us and thought it sounded perfect for my Mum.

After driving to the middle of nowhere in the countryside, we took a half mile walk up a path filled with sheep and cows before eventually finding the garden.

    4. Edit

We weren't sure what to expect but as we made our way through the gates but the gardens were gigantic with enscribed stones, urns and statues around every corner.

There was a lake with a little thatched house which Tom couldn't resist locking himself in and hiding until everyone else found him.

Even if we'd had the entire day there, here was so much to see that I'm sure we'd have still missed some things.

We stopped to take more photos of the adorable cows on the way back to the car before heading back to Edinburgh.

  2. Checkin at Sakura Tree
    1. Edit

Uncle Bruce had sent Dad some money to treat everyone to dinner as a late birthday present so we decided to go to the Sakura Tree and try a hot pot.

The hot pot is a bubbling hot broth which comes in two halves, one side is spicy and the other side is deadly spicy. You're then brought plate after plate of seafood, tofu, vegetables, noodles and meat (for my Dad) which you place in the broth and leave to cook for a few minutes before dipping in sauce and eating.

    4. Edit

There was so much food on our table and if that wasn't enough, there was also an unlimited sushi buffet, so roll after roll of sushi kept arriving too. We were so full but really happy afterwards.
