Tonight was Google's Dine The Decades party which was being held at a top secret location. We had no idea where we were going, only that we'd meet on Castle Terrace where we'd be catching a Routemaster bus back in time.

Kenny and Laura were our +1's and we were handed evacuee cards as we made our way on to the bus. Gemma and Gary joined us just before the bus set off.

After making our way through corridors filled with trinkets, antiques and racks and racks of vintage clothes, we entered a room with three dinner tables decorated to represent different eras.

As evacuees, we made our way to the 1940's table where we were handed Millionaire Cocktails and ration books.

We were then served allotment salads in jars, potatoes with veg in tins and bread with chutney. It was really yummy and just as I was feeling full, we were told to move on to the next decade for our second meal.

As we made our way to the second table, we were transported in to the 1970's with fondue and gin fizz cocktails.

Everyone seemed to recognise the tablecloth from their grandma's house when they were little and they had a selection of retro board games to play. The cheesy potatoes tasted delicious and I'm super tempted to get my own fondue set so we can recreate them.

The final table of the night was the 1920's and the prettiest of all with art deco chandeliers and gorgeous bouquets.

The final meal was a vegetable pie (for us vegetarians and a creepy pie with bone marrow sticking out for the carnivores) with cauliflower soup and pickled vegetables. We played consequences during the meal and then had mini desserts before jumping in the photo booth.

We were sad when it was time to catch the Routemaster back in to town and wave goodbye to Zoe from Google, who's going to work for Pinterest. It was such a fun night and it's raised the bar very high for all future dinner parties!
