  1. Checkin at Dr Neil's Garden
    1. Edit

It was Easter Sunday today and Tom surprised me with an amazing chocolate egg which had an egg, inside an egg, inside an egg, inside an egg, inside an egg, inside an egg and came in the prettiest wooden box. It's the perfect size for storing craft supplies so I guess I'll just have to hurry up and eat it so I can get organized.

My parents came over in the afternoon and we'd set up an egg hunt for them around our house. When they'd found all of their eggs, they hid some for us too. We tried to hide them in the most inconspicuous places and it was so much fun, proving that egg hunts aren't just for kids.

  2. Checkin at Figgate Park
    1. Edit

Afterwards we headed to Figgate Park to have a picnic in the sunshine. The park was really quite and we got a perfect spot near the pond.

    2. Edit

There was a boardwalk around the pond which reminded me of the Black Bayou in Louisiana.

We fed our picnic leftovers to the ducks who seemed very happy to have them.

We then headed to Dr Neils Garden which was nearby and hidden inside the walls of a hospital next to Duddingston Loch.

    2. Edit

Despite being completely new to us and really hidden, the garden was pretty busy with families rolling eggs down the hill for Easter.

We even found a few chocolate eggs hidden around the garden.

  4. Checkin at The Lioness of Leith
    1. Edit

Afterwards we headed to The Lioness Of Leith, a hipster new pub which has recently opened at the foot of Leith Walk.

    2. Edit

Tom decided our new Easter tradition should be treating my Mum to cocktails so we got her a mojito while I had a Lemon Sherbet. They were both really tasty.

    3. Edit

I loved this table made from a pinball machine and I took a peek at their menu. They offer a build-you-own vegetarian roast on Sundays, so I'd love to come back and try the food sometime.
