We were invited to Google's I Spy Edinburgh Party at the Camera Obscura tonight.

The Camera Obscura was somewhere we were tempted to visit but imagined it being filled with kids, so we were excited to hear Google had rented out the whole place just for the City Experts.

I'm not sure if it was the unlimited amounts of free wine and beer but it felt like the perfect venue for a party with mind-boggling holograms, illusions and pin-hole cameras.

The mirror maze and vortex tunnel were our favourite exhibits and both became increasingly more difficult as the night went on and we'd had more to drink.

    8. Edit

The vortex made you feel as though the room was spinning upside down as you walked through it. It was a really unpleasant feeling!

The photo booths at Google parties are always fun but this time we had some that could morph you in to manga, a baby or the last visitor to have their photo taken.

The party had a slight adult field trip theme so the food was inspired by school dinners with mini veggie burgers, mac 'n' cheese and beans on toast. There was also ice tea and coffee flavoured beer.

Though it was too dark to see the camera obscura in action, the views over Edinburgh from the top of the building was amazing.

Things got even better at the end of the night when we discovered a piano staircase down to a squished penny machine and an Auto-Wed machine which married us an gave us a set of rings.
