  1. Checkin at Edinburgh Butterfly and Insect World
    1. Edit

I got a deal for tickets to the Butterfly & Insect World so we took my parents and Nana along for a day out. I was in primary school the last time I visited but it felt exactly the same almost 20 years later.

The butterflies didn't land on us like they did at the Natural History Museum in London but the pond and water features were really pretty to walk around.

As well as butterflies, there was a small area of reptiles to explore too including giant snakes, terrifying spiders and adorable chameleons.

There was a long rope running along the ceiling for ants to crawl along but there were a few points where it dipped and got very close to our heads.

  2. Checkin at The Paper Mill
    1. Edit

After we had spotted all the butterflies we had wanted to spot, we headed to The Paper Mill, a hipster new bar and restaurant that Tom had discovered in Lasswade.

It was right next to the river and was really lovely inside. I tried a Breakfast Martini which was made from orange marmalade, Millers, Cointreau, lemon juice and Antica Formula.
