    After a very productive day of sewing, I finished my comic-strip skirt. This is the first skirt I've ever made and I made up the pattern as I went. It was surprisingly easy and I love the result - especially the tiers at the bottom.

      In the evening, my parents came through and I was excited to wear my skirt out for the first time and we went for dinner at The Caley Sample Room.

      I've always considered this bar to be quite sporty but it looked really pretty tonight with candles and dried flowers on all of the tables.

      I wanted to try something new and that I wouldn't usually go for, so I ordered the blue cheese potato cakes with mackerel. Apart for a few bones, it was delicious and I'd order it again. Everyone else loved their food too so I bet we'll be going back soon!
