  1. Checkin at City Hall, Dublin
    1. Edit

We were excited to get out and see some more of Dublin this morning and luckily, our hotel had offered to take care of our bags so we were free to explore!

We started off in City Hall which had a really pretty domed roof. Tom took a 360 photo of it

  2. Checkin at Queen Of Tarts
    1. Edit

Queen Of Tarts, a super cute cake shop that Kenny had recommended was just across the street.

    2. Edit

There were so many nice cakes to pick from and we tucked in to a chocolate and chilli tart which was delicious.

  3. Checkin at Dublin Castle
    1. Edit

We then had a look around the grounds of Dublin Castle which didn't look as much like as a castle as I had imagined it would.

Afterwards, we jumped on a tram and headed to the outskirts of the city.

We passed by the Guinness Factory. We'd considered going to the Guinness Storehouse but were put off when we realised you don't get to see inside the actual factory and it's more of a tourist experience than anything else.

  7. Checkin at Kilmainham Gaol
    1. Edit

We joined the queue at the Kilmainham Gaol, which is a really cool looking prison but the waiting time was so long that we wouldn't have got in before having to leave for our flight. We'll just have to go next time.

  8. Checkin at Irish Museum of Modern Art
    1. Edit

Luckily the Irish Museum of Modern Art was next door, so we wandered through the pretty grounds.

  9. Checkin at Wolf and Spoon

Back in the city, we stopped for lunch at Wolf + Spoon.

  10. Checkin at Cafe En Seine
    1. Edit

Laura and Kenny recommended we visit Cafe En Seine which was really pretty and reminded us of Cafe Vaudeville in Belfast.

I had creme brûlée and we had our photos taken in the photobooth.

  11. Checkin at Merrion Square
    1. Edit

We paid a visit to the Oscar Wilde statue in Merrion Square which was a really pretty park.

When looking for things to do in Dublin on Pinterest, I told Tom that everyone seemed to take photos of doors which made him giggle when I stopped to take a photo of this awesome door covered in eyes, ears and lips.

  14. Edit

It was then time to head back to our hotel, so we took the scenic route along the canal to the docks.

We giggled when we walked past Google Docks.

  17. Checkin at the gibson hotel
    1. Edit

Back at the hotel, we stopped for a cocktail in the bar while waiting for our bus to the airport. I had a Clover Club which was delicious and made from "plymouth gin, lemon juice, raspberry cordial and egg white, shaken and served straight up".
