It was New Year's Eve and for the first year in ages, we got to spend it with my family and ,most importantly, my Grandma who's usually in Canada at this time of year.

We stocked up on lots and lots of cheese which will last us through most of January.

We headed down to the canal in time for midnight where we got the perfect view of the fireworks at the castle without the crowds of the centre.

Even Calum, who was threatening to spend the evening alone made it down in time.

Afterwards, we headed back and played Cluedo in to the early hours of the morning.
