We woke up just outside Los Angeles this morning and though we were excited to have reached the west coast again, it meant that there wasn't long to go until we had to fly home.

Our entertainment for the day was taking a tour of the Fender factory and seeing how they make their guitars.

Tom was so excited, as the factory is somewhere he's always wanted to visit and it was amazing seeing how much of each guitar is still made by hand.

We got to admire the special orders in the Fender Custom Shop including this gorgeous sparkly red Gretsch which cost $25,000.

The best part of the tour was at the end when we got to play with all the guitars. I really want a purple Gretsch one day.

We took a quick drive around LA afterwards but the city was much smoggier than our last visit, so it was hard to see too far in the distance.

We stopped for lunch at In N Out where we've discovered that you can order animal style grilled cheeses which miss out the meat and are super tasty.

There was a really pretty smoggy sunset as we made out way up the coast to Santa Cruz where we were spending the night.
