      It was so nice waking up in our stateroom on the Delta Queen this morning with Chattanooga across the river.

    We tucked in to a buffet breakfast with fresh pancakes and eggs before hitting the road for the day.

    We headed in to Chattanooga to see what the city was like.

      Tom wanted to stop off and see the Chattanooga Choo Choo and sang me the song about it. I'd never heard of it before.

    Back on the road, we crossed the state line in to Alabama. The welcome centre was lovely with friendly staff and rocking chairs on the porch.

      We stopped for lunch at Flip Burger Boutique in Birmingham, a restaurant we loved on our last visit to the city.

      We shared a tuna burger, falafel burger and side of sweet potato tots. I also had a turtle milkshake and everything we ordered was delicious.

      Afterwards we went to The Sloss Furnaces, an abandoned factory which used to produce iron but is now a national landmark open for the public to explore.

      It was a really interesting and creepy place to explore. They were setting up a ghost tour around the factory while we were visiting and I'd have loved to come back for that at night.

      A little later we stopped off in Tuscaloosa, which is the state capitol of Alabama. There was a giant robot laying in the grass in front of the university.

    We passed by an awesome moon neon sign was an awesome neon sign outside one of the motels.
