    We woke up in Ocean City this morning and drove across the state line in to Delaware.

    The weather still wasn't ideal for the beach but at least the strong winds from the storm had died down.

    Our first stop was Lewes which is known as the first town in the first state.

    It was home to "the fountain of youth".

      We stopped off at the Zwaanendael Museum where a lovely old lady told us all about the town and exhibits in the museum.

      There was a super creepy merman skeleton in one of the glass cases.

    There was a gorgeous purple house across the road which I think would be my dream house.

      Our next stop was the Dogfish Head Brewery which had an awesome treehouse in the yard.

      They offer free tours and you get to try four samples of their beer for free.

      They also had a food truck serving food made from their beer so we tried a veggie hot dog, clam chouder and beer pickles.

      It was then time to check in to our hotel for the night, the Fulton Steamboat Inn.

      The hotel was designed like a steamboat, surrounded by a fake lake filled with koi.

      Our room was styled like a stateroom with an anchor on the door and pirate duck in the bathroom.

      We went for dinner at the Lancaster Brewing Company where I tucked in to a black bean burger and sweet potato fries.
