Inspired by an idea for an awesome new coffee table, my parents took us to B&Q to buy wood this morning. We repaid the favour with a box of donuts from Krispy Kreme next door.

We were mesmerised by the conveyer belt of donuts passing through a fountain of glaze.

The staff seemed a little surprised when we only ordered four donuts, instead of a dozen box like everything else was leaving with.

We then went for dim sum at the Imperial Palace.

  5. Edit

It was delicious and they had all of our favourite dishes. Dad even thought it was better than the dim sum they serve in Canada.

The custard tarts are my favourite dim sum treat, especially if they're warm.

We had a look around the oriental supermarket afterwards and picked up some pretty dishes for soy sauce.

Feeling full, we decided to work off the dim sum with a walk around the Hermitage Of Braid.

It was really pretty and the flowers were beginning to bloom.

We walked as far as Blackford Pond and our feet were sore.

We relaxed with a drink at the Braid Hills Hotel which had an amazing view over the hills.

We went for a slice of pizza at Tony Macaroni in the evening. Their food is really good but the friendly staff can be a little intimidating. They had greeted us and started taking our order while we were still outside on the street tonight.

We also shared a super glossy chocolate cake.

When we got home, Dad and Tom started work on our new table.
