There was an article about us in the Edinburgh Evening News today and we had to spend the whole day sneaking past people reading the paper in the street. You can read the whole article on The Scotsman website but ignore the bit about me being a wannabe Kirstie Allsopp.

The rest of the day turned out to be crazily busy, starting with breakfast at Piecebox with Mum & Dad. I then had to rush home in time for a phone interview with DC Thomson.

Tom was then booked in for a haircut at Ruffians, so I played on their iPads while I waited for him.

We took a walk along the Water Of Leith afterwards which was so pretty.

We stopped for coffee and cake at Peter's Yard when we reached Stockbridge.

We checked The Reader, the newspaper for our adopted hometown of Omaha to see another article about us on their website and in their paper. The journalist is going to send me a few copies to show our Grannies so I'll scan them for my blog too.

Tom had a drumming lesson with the drummer from Arab Strap last week, who was really impressed with him and though it was something he should persue, so we booked out a practise room with a drum kit at Banana Row.

The room felt a lot like the teenage bedroom we never had, complete with a hanging of the star signs on the wall.

It was lots of fun banging things really loudly for an hour but we were soon interrupted with a phone call asking if a Daily Mail photographer could meet us at our house.

We rushed home just in time to tidy up and get dressed for the photo shoot. We were all dressed up anyway, so we decided to take ourselves out for dinner afterwards.

We ended up at Blackbird which serves the best cocktails in town.

I had a strawberry and rosemary smash which was served in an awesome mason jar. I was later told they're known as hillbilly wine glasses and made by glueing a mason jar to a candlestick. I need to make a set!

I also had mushrooms on toast with a side of mac n cheese and a sherbet martini for dessert.
