    My new camera arrived this morning and we couldn't wait to take it for a spin. It's a Canon EOS M which is a mirrorless camera, making it small enough to carry in my satchel while using my big interchangeable lenses.

    It was like torture waiting for the battery to charge, but luckily my friend Lulu (who runs the Betty Blythe tearoom in London) had sent me a copy of her new book to keep me occupied.

    Luckily it was all charged and ready to go by the time Tom's Granny, Jim & Christine arrived to go for lunch.

    We went to Loudons Cafe, which was the perfect place to practise taking soft focus portraits and photos of food.

    I tucked in to a half a salmon & walnut and half a goats cheese & marmalade sandwich in between taking snaps. Both were delicious!

    We walked Tom's Granny back to our place along the canal, though I trailed behind from stopping to take photos.

    It's amazing how many interesting things you can walk past everyday but never notice until you're looking for things to photograph.

    In the evening, my dreamy vampire fiancé (only joking, it's just a filter) and I went for nibbles at Luca's as another excuse to try out the camera.
