Enough about me, I want to get to know you guys. Welcome to a new feature, where I'll be chatting to my subscribers and finding out all about them.

Rebecca started subscribing to me a long time ago, after reading early issues of Snippets. She lives in Perth, Western Australia and works in administration. She loves The Wizard Of Oz, Fiona Apple and The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. Her favourite possession is her art wall and her favourite colour is red.

What did you want to be when you grew up?

  4. Edit

When I was little I wanted to be a dancer, or a dance teacher. I've lived some of my dreams already and I'm actually in the process of making new ones right now.

I ran a craft store in partnership with my Mum for a number of years, which was both amazing and difficult. I love the challenges and responsibility of running your own business, so I'm sure I'll end up following that path again - I have a wedding stationery business which is waiting for some more attention from me, but I've just had some big changes in my life and I think I'm going to do some travelling before I settle down. At the moment anything is possible.

Where should we visit if we come to your town?

  6. Edit

Perth is a laid back little city, so firstly, don't expect the hustle and bustle of a big city. My top 5 places to go in Perth would be:

    1. The Naked Fig - My fave place to eat. It's right on the beach so the view are amazing. The food is delicious with lots of vegan and healthy options. My friend and I like to take a long walk/run along the coast (there's a footpath) and then come back to the Fig for lunch. It's the perfect Sunday.

    2. Perth Cultural Centre / William Street - This is the home of Perth's art gallery, museum and main library. It's easy to lose time here. There's often events or markets in the space between the three, and William Street is home to little boutiques and galleries and pop up shops.

    4. Leederville - Luna Cinemas is the 'arthouse' cinema group of Perth, showing independent and foreign films. After watching a film, grab something yummy from one of the cafes or restaurants on Oxford St, and visit Oxford St Books (books), Black Plastic (gifts etc) and Urban Records (gifts and music).

    4. Fremantle - Op Shops, cafes, and markets.

    5. Mount Lawley - Beaufort Street is home to bars, restaurants, boutiques and Planet, a video library/video store/music store/clothing store/cafe.

Where do you look for inspiration?

  9. Edit

I've always had a very active imagination, so inspiration has never been a problem for me, quite the opposite - I usually have trouble narrowing down the ideas and choosing which to follow through with. Sometimes you just have to *start* - once the hands are inky, everything flows.

What's the best piece of advice you've ever been given?

  11. Edit

Happiness is a choice. Every moment you have a choice to change something about your current circumstances, even if it's just your attitude. You are responsible for your own happiness.

  12. Edit

What would your three wishes be?

  13. Edit

    1. To remove fear & anxiety - I think that people are so held back from happiness, truth and creativity because they're scared - as we grow up the monsters under our bed are replaced with the ones in our heads and they keep us awake at night, make us sick and stop us from saying what we really mean.

    2. Infinite resources and time. I want thousands of years to sit in great libraries learning as much as my brain will hold. Enough money to live comfortably, see the world, be able to take every opportunity that comes my way and enjoy myself doing it.

    3. The power to create anything I can imagine with a cute nose wiggle or the click of my fingers.
