    We woke up in Portland, Maine this morning which is the top eastern state of America.

      We went for breakfast at Silly's. It was such a cool cafe with things all over the walls and menus in lunch boxes on each table.

      We played cards while waiting for our food and I had a hippy hippy shake which was topped with pretzels.

      I had the pumpkin spice granola which was delicious.

      We then drove through White Mountain National Forrest in New Hampshire.

      It got colder and snowier the further we got up the mountain.

      We were hoping to see a moose after we'd found out that they don't hibernate.

      We then crossed the border in to Vermont, our 48th state meaning that we had visited all of the contiguous American states!

      Vermont seems to be most famous for Ben & Jerry's so we stopped off at their ice cream factory.

      They don't make ice cream on the weekends but you can still look around the shop, take a $3 tour, buy ice cream and get squished pennies.

      They even have a graveyard for old flavours.

    We then headed to Burlington and headed downtown in search of dinner.

      We had amazing salmon burgers at Sky Diner where mine came topped with seaweed slaw and wontons.

      We went for drinks back at our hotel where I had a pear and brown sugar martini.
