      We woke up in Virginia this morning and drove over the border to West Virginia, our 37th state of the trip.

      The scenery reminded us of Scotland, with rolling hills, twisty roads and tiny historical towns.

      We didn't get a chance to see too much of the state but we did stop off to see a secret bunker where some members of government plan to go if there's a nuclear attack.

    We then drove down to the capital, Washington which isn't in a state but in it's own district.

      Our first stop was the Sticky Fingers Bakery for lunch, where I had vegan biscuits and gravy.

      We also shared a chocolate peanut butter pie which was amazing.

      After lunch it was time to see the White House and all of the other tourist spots of the city.

      We then went to see the FBI building. Washington reminded us a lot of London.

      Tom then wanted to see Union Station where we had passed through on the Amtrak last year.

      It was really pretty inside and we got some squished pennies.

      The sun was setting as we arrived and the sky looked heavenly.

    The restaurant was so cool with chairs and toys stuck all over the ceilings and walls.
