    We woke up in Charleston, South Carolina this morning which is known as the city of churches.

      We went for breakfast at WildFlour Pastry which was lovely.

      We sat outside under the palm trees while eating our breakfast. We've noticed that a few cafes have plastic bags filled with water and pennies hanging up and it turns out they help keep away bugs.

      I had a pumpkin and pecan muffin which I think was the best muffin I've ever had.

    After breakfast, we went for a drive down to the beach and got a squished penny.

      We then drove to the Cape Romain National Wildlife Refuge which was so pretty and peaceful.

      This is a great place for bird watching and we spotted a crane, lots of little sea birds and a stork.

      The beach is also a popular place for turtle and dolphin watching.

      We then drove along the shore to Myrtle Beach which was really touristy but the white sandy beaches were lovely.

    We then crossed the border in to North Carolina, our 35th state!

    We drove across the country to Raleigh, which is the capital.

    We went for dinner at The Remedy Diner which has an amazing half vegan menu. We ordered "Not-Chicken" BBQ Wings which tasted so chicken-like that I was scared to eat them.

    I ordered the East Carolina-Style BBQ sandwich which was sooooo good and came with a huge bowl of potato salad.
