      We woke up in Louisiana this morning. We hadn't realised it the night before but our cabin was actually on stilts above the swamp.

      We tucked in to our Cajun breakfast and drank orange juice from jam jars while our hostess Betty told us stories about the swamps and a creature called the Rougarou who lived in the forrest and could turn you in to stone.

      Afterwards we went for a walk around the grounds.

      There were all kinds of animals including a 100 year old turtle which weighs 200lbs.

      We were told not to be scared of the alligators as they have stopped eating until next year.

    The only thing we had to be scared of were the bugs which kept biting our legs.

    We then drove to New Orleans passing all kinds of crazy houses, churches and forests on the way. It was just like the opening sequence of True Blood.

      We stopped to see Lafayette Cemetery which was in @[56873888664:Interview With A Vampire].

      I read that the coffins use to float when it would rain heavily in New Orleans so they started building mausoleums on top of them.

    We then headed to the French Quarter which was just as bustling with tourists, beads and jazz as it was at Mardi Gras.

      Our first stop was the Voodoo Museum which was really cool.

      The museum was filled with voodoo dolls, altars and smoking skeletons.

    We then walked down to Jackson Square where all the horses were waiting to give carriage rides.

      We stopped for coffee and beignets at Cafe Du Monde.

      We sat outside so we could keep listening to the jazz players but it was a little windy, so icing sugar was blowing everywhere and everyone had to dust themselves off as they were leaving.

    We then went for a walk along the shoreline which is so pretty.

    We spotted some mermen in a shop window.

      We then went for Hurricane's in Pat O'Briens which were even stronger than we remembered.

      Tom only took a couple of sips of his before leaving the rest to me so that he could drive, which made me feel dizzy.

    We then drove up to Mississippi, our 30th state.

      We went for dinner at the Derailed Diner near Mobile, Alabama.

      The decor was crazy and we sat at the Wizard Of Oz table.

      I loved the salt and pepper shakers.

      I ordered a vegetable hobo which came served in tin foil.

      We then crossed the state line in to Florida and drove to Pensacola, where we checked in to a hotel and watched Cars.
