@[297605497404:Time Out London] had vouchers for free cocktails around London, so we went on a cocktail crawl, starting off at Lab in Soho. It was a fancy cocktail bar where the drinks took around ten minutes to make. One of our cocktails was made of egg whites mixed with gin and something blue.
Next up was Detroit in Covent Garden, where the cocktails there tasted like gin-based sangria and came in flower pots with olives.
We then went to The Cellar Door in Aldwych, which is inside an old public toilet.
It was tiny but really posh inside. There were also toilets at the back which appear to have glass doors until you lock them and the glass frosts.
We stayed for a drink when an amazing cabaret show called Abdominal Mashups started.
Kitty La Roar and Nick of Time did mash-up’s of songs, where Frank Sinatra met Radiohead and Eminem met the Ting Tings.
We ended up chatting and they were very lovely. They gave us their CD and will probably have a download in our upcoming issue of @[120613551300525:Snippets].
On the way home, I noticed that a strap from my jacket had fallen off and to our amazement, Tom found it in the street.
We decided to celebrate by blowing our remaining cash at the Trocadero.
We finally had a shot on the mechanical horse riding game – it was quite bumpy and I’m amazed we didn’t fall off.
Next up we went on a simulator, which wasn’t very scary, so we kept shouting “Oh my god, we’re going to die”. When we got out, there were some excited looking tourists desperate to get on afterwards – I hope they weren’t too disappointed.
We tried to win enough tokens for a Hello Kitty but I think we’ll have to go back with our 2p jar.
We went bowling, which started off in strikes but soon turned to complete gutter balls.
Tom made me have my photo taken with Mr. Funland.
Tom picked up a Cinnabon to eat on the tube home.
We also made friends with a cat on the way back from the tube.
