We took my parents through to Brighton today.

It was so hot and sunny, so we relaxed on the beach for most of the day.

There is an amazing old fashioned Penny Arcade in one of the coves on the beach. I had my fortune told and it said “Be wary of… women with facial hair”? That sounds ominous, I’ll keep an eye out.

There were some old fashioned view master machines and, before we realised what we'd put our money in, we were watching a beauty parade which was a little x-rated. There was also a cool old label press where you could make a label for 20p. It took a bit of practice but we got the hang after 80p.

We sat outside and had drinks and appetisers while waiting for our table. These nuts were delicious.

Afterwards went for a walk along the pier.

Tom went on the roller coaster at the end of the pier to make up for the rides at Legoland.

In the evening I treated my Dad to dinner at Jamie’s Italian.

We were then shown to our table where they had webcam so you could watch the chefs cooking your meal.

The antipasti came on a board balanced on top of two cans of tomatoes. I had a pasta for dinner which was really tasty.
