  1. Checkin at Scooter's Coffehouse
    1. Edit

Our big Christmas payment check arrived this morning, so we headed along to the bank to cash it. There's a coffee shop called Scooters inside the bank, and as a storm was brewing outside, we decided to stay for a coffee and cake.

  2. Edit

It was a little colder today, so we decided it was the perfect time to take a walk over the bridge behind our house and see what South of downtown looks like. This train driver waved to us and tooted his horn.

  4. Edit

There were lots of cool houses, including one that looked haunted. It was right next to the mortuary too.

  5. Edit

The Donut Stop was closed but we'll come back at night sometime.

  6. Checkin at The Mystery Bookstore
    1. Edit

We walked as far as the Iowa state line before the pavement stopped and we decided to head back in to town.

    2. Edit

There was a shop that sold crime books and cross-stitch supplies which looked cool but was ran by a scary old woman who demanded to know how she could help us when we walked in and followed us around the store. We were clearly the first customers she'd ever had.

  7. Checkin at Old Market Lofts
    1. Edit

We headed back to the lofts and went up on the roof before deciding to go to the park.

  8. Checkin at Heartland of America Park
    1. Edit

Tom bought some donuts that tasted like play dough.

    2. Edit

I managed to get a video of the eerie fish in the pond.

  9. Edit

We then decided to walk along the riverfront.

  10. Edit

The Missouri was flowing so fast.

  12. Edit

Parts of the path have flooded already and the river was almost touching the bottom of one of the bridges. There's an awesome looking river boat that you can take when the river's not flooding. We'll come back for this!

  13. Edit

Omaha looked cool from far away.

  14. Checkin at Urban Outfitters
    1. Edit

We then went shopping in Urban Outfitters, where Tom got some $9.99 Levi's and I got two tops. One has bicycles printed on it.

    2. Edit

I also got an awesome camera keyring.

  15. Facebook Checkin at Blue Line Coffee at 09 Jun 19:24
    1. Edit

We stopped for coffee at Blue Line, a coffee shop in the Saddle Creek complex which roasts it's own beans.

  16. Checkin at Old Market Lofts
    1. Edit

We made it home just before the storm started, so we decided to go up to the roof and watch it from the Bat Cave (we think the community room looks like a supervillan's hideout at night with the view over the city).

    3. Edit

We'd bought a bottle of Californian champagne for $7 earlier, so we popped it open to drink during the storm.

    4. Edit

When the rain stopped we headed out on to the roof to get a better view of the lightening.
