  1. Checkin at Canary Wharf DLR Station
    1. Edit

Today was the last free day to look around the Royal Observatory at Greenwich so we jumped on the DLR and headed down south.

  2. Checkin at Greenwich Park
    1. Edit

We headed to Greenwich Park where we were given lunch for free. There were lots of people running around with platters of sandwiches and handing them out to passers by. They said they wanted to create a magic moments in everyone's day.

  3. Facebook Checkin at Prime Meridian, Greenwich at 07 Mar 13:48
    1. Edit

After lunch we walked up the hill to the Royal Observatory. Where we found the centre of the earth, the Prime Meridian Of The World where you can stand with one foot in East Longitude and one foot in West.

    2. Edit

We joined the long queue of tourists to get our photo taken and we got a certificate printed to prove we were there.

We had a look around the rest of the museum which is filled with awesome clocks. We then went to the science centre, which had lots of fun things to play around with and we even got to look through a special telescope at the sun, where we could see sun spots.

After the observatory, we walked through the park to Blackheath.

  5. Checkin at Bookshop on the Heath
    1. Edit

There was a great little bookshop filled with old books that had them arranged in the colours of the rainbow. Tom found an old map of Maida Vale and our street.

  6. Edit

We headed back down to Greenwich and went for lunch at Paul Rhodes where I got to have soup in a bowl made of bread. It was very filling but I liked it. The woman serving it called it "soup in a bread".

  7. Edit

Tom and I also shared a carrot cake and brownie, because we can never choose between them.

  8. Checkin at Mr Simms Olde Sweet Shoppe
    1. Edit

On the way back to the DLR we stopped in at Mr Simm’s Olde Sweet Shop to get a pick n mix.

  9. Checkin at Stratford Station
    1. Edit

We had some time to kill before a Ruby On Rail talk we were going to in the evening, so we took a train past Stratford to see how the Olympics are coming along.

  10. Edit

It was then time for the Ruby On Rails talk at Skills Matter. Tony came along too, so it was good to see him but most of the talk went over my head.

  11. Edit

Tom managed to get himself on @[110557435632451:Tech Crunch] today by finding hiding code on @[20531316728:Facebook].

  12. Edit

It's Tony's birthday tomorrow, so after the talk we took him to Tinsel Town Diner for a milkshake and surprise birthday sundae with an Oscar. He looked so shoked when they brought it out and the TV started playing birthday messages from the stars.
