      When we woke up this morning, our bus was about to arrive at Heathrow. We checked our bags in and went for breakfast at Yo! Sushi. I've been wanting to try breakfast here for years but you can only get to the restaurant if you've been through security and they only serve it for a few hours each morning.

      I tried the coconut porridge and granola with berries and yogurt with a really yummy smoothie.

    It was then time to board our flight to Chicago. It was long but we managed to sleep and I watched a movie called @[111367235585074:Country Strong] which starred Gwyneth Paltrow as a country singer who'd just got out of rehab.

      We arrived in Chicago eight hours later and had a few hours to kill, so we explored the huge airport.

      There was a lightening storm as we were about to take off, so our plane was held on the runway for half an hour.

    I also got to enjoy my first root beer on the plane.

    We flew over the Missouri river as we were landing and you could see how much it had flooded already. It's not going to reach it's peak for two more weeks, so everyone is worried about how bad the flooding may get.

      Finally we had arrived in Omaha! We picked up our bags and grabbed a taxi downtown.

      Our first stop was the Old Market Lofts, which will be our home for the next 4 months.

      Our apartment isn't available until tomorrow, so we got to spend the night in the Executive Suite.

      We couldn't resist popping up to the roof terrace to take in the view of the city.

    We dropped off our bags and headed out for a walk around town.

    The Old Market is really pretty with lots of boutiques, restaurants and bars. There were jugglers, buskers playing jazz and horse drawn carriages walking up and down the cobbled streets.

      We then went for a drink at Slowdown which is in the Saddle Creek complex.

      I had a root beer and Tom got to try some Goose beer from Chicago. We sat at the bar while the friendly staff gave us a list of places to check out around town and explained how to use the buses.
