We had breakfast at the hotel before heading off on the second leg of our Manic Street Preachers pilgrimage to Blackwood, their hometown. The hotel owner asked why we'd ever want to go there and when we told him we were Manic's fans he told us that Nicky Wire lived in a huge house at the top of the hill and that he was a really nice guy.
