Our last day back in Scotland was spent with my parents in Edinburgh. We went for breakfast in an amazing little cafe called the Roseleaf down in Leith.

It’s full of quirky little touches, such as menus binding inside copies of National Geographic and hardback books, candles in teacups and mismatched tableware.

The food was delicious too. We had waffles, pilled with caramelised bananas and sampled the applewood mac n cheese.
