• Inspired by cuisines from around the world, Maison Bleue Le Bistrot brings a modern, unique and delicious take to Edinburgh's food scene.
  • Nestled in the heart of Morningside, the bistrot is cosy but modern with plush velvet seating, teacup candles and exposed brickwork.
  • With a Food First... Then Morals neon sign and tempting cocktail menu, it's the perfect spot for an evening date or lunch with friends.
  • Combining French, North African and Creole cuisines with a Scottish twist, there are so many unique dishes to choose from and the Morningside bistrot even has a specials menu inspired by the area.
  • To start, I tried Les Moules à la Bretonne which were mussels from Shetland in a creamy white wine sauce.
  • Tom ordered the Surprise calamari which looked absolutely gorgeous, topped with colourful peppers and vegetables. It tasted amazing but the recipe is top secret.
  • I ordered the nicoise salad from the Spring Specials which came topped with smoked salmon for the perfect Scottish twist.
  • Tom had the fish of the day which was sea bream, topped with fennel, tomatoes and harissa mayonnaise.
  • Saving the best until last, we ordered the Dark Chocolate Mousse to share for dessert. It was topped with rosemary Chantilly which tasted heavenly with the dark chocolate.
