Based on a design by Charles Rennie Mackintosh, House For An Art Lover is a gorgeous building, cafe and gallery based in Bellahouston Park, Glasgow.

Equipped with audio tours, we couldn't wait to explore the house and spot all the beautiful Art Nouveau details.
-
-
We began our tour in the Main Hall with it's dark wood sliding doors and wrought iron chandeliers. The house is also available for weddings and we'd watched our friend's Jenny & Rin's ceremony in this room a few years earlier.

-
When the ceremony was over, the doors to The Dining Room were swung open where they signed their paperwork. This room held one long dining table with two high-back chairs and is decorated with the famous Mackintosh rose.

Smaller rooms leading off from the Main Hall included a small dining room called The Oval Room and The Lower Gallery, where you could learn more about the designs and art in the house.
-
-
My favourite room was The Music Room, a long white lounge with huge windows overlooking the gardens and a terrace you could venture out on.
-
-
-
-
There was an amazing Art Lover's inspired piano at one end of the room which kept tempting us to play it.
-
-
Once we had explored the house, there was plenty more art and sculptures to see in the gardens.
-
-
-
-
-
The Bellahouston Walled Garden is a beautiful place to sit on a warm day, with sculptured topiaries and colourful blooming flowers.
-
-
-
-
Children and big kids alike will love the Art Park, where you can climb, swing and leap from sculptures and get lost in the Alice In Wonderland maze.
-
-
-
We ended our visit with afternoon tea in the tea room where we were treated to sandwiches and cakes.
