The bake off was being held at The Cookery School which I was excited to see was in the Jacobean Corsetry Building whose sign I've loved for ages.

Chef Danny started us off by showing us how to make each of the recipes. He made it look really easy and gave us lots of useful tips which I can't wait to try out when baking at home.
-
-
We were then divided into groups of four and sent off to try out what we had learned by baking scones, a Victoria sponge cake, cupcakes and chocolate chip muffins.
-
-
It was lots of fun and we took turns to beat the eggs, cream the sugar and whisk the batter.
-
-
We could feel our muscles getting a workout by the end of the day and we were really jealous when we found out that the bakers in the other room had a set of mixers to help them.
-
-
I was even more jealous when I realised that my nail polish matched one of them perfectly.
-
-
The highlight of the day was getting to eat our freshly baked scones during the break. They tasted amazing!
-
-
It was so funny looking at all the scone photos flooding the #CurrysintheKitchen hashtag feed on Instagram.
-
-
Our boxes were completely full by the end of the day and everything tasted delicious - especially the white chocolate ganache cupcakes with a dark chocolate core.
-
-
As well as leaving with a huge pile of baked treats, we were each treated to a Kenwood kMix hand mixer and goodies bags filled with baking treats.

I can't wait to test out the new mixer on my next recipe, it's so much shinier and prettier than the one we had before.
