This evening we were invited to The Edinburgh Experiment, a party for Google City Experts at the Small Animal Hospital in Summerhall.
-
-
It was the perfect venue with creepy derelict corridors leading in to rooms filled with leftover medical equipment.
-
-
We were given labs coats and were known as Professor Cat Morley and Doctor Tom Waddington for the evening.
-
-
-
We picked up cocktails from the Cage Bar, which were served in beakers and told to put sweets in them to make them extra fizzy.
-
-
-
It was then photo time in the photo booth with props and geeky glasses.
-
-
It was then time for the Gastronomy experiment being served in the dining room by Jelly + Gin.
-
-
We tucked in to a bowl of tasty Thai broth served with a syringe of liquid noodles which would solidify as you squirted them in to the soup.
-
-
-
After dinner, we ventured in to the next room which was filled with desserts including space ice cream, edible insects and chocolate truffles which you could spray with edible perfume to change the taste.
-
-
We gave the insects a miss, using vegetarianism as an excuse and experimented with the various scents of edible perfume.
-
-
We saved the best dessert until last which was jelly gin.
-
-
-
It basically eating a gin & tonic and a super strong one at that.
-
-
In the next room, two boffins showed us how to extract DNA from a strawberry and then had us drink it in a shot of Bacardi.

Back in the Cage Bar, we tucked in to one last cocktail and attempted to lock Tom in an old animal cages before heading home with a goody bag filled with popping candy.
